RUTLAND CHIEFS OF POLICE

The Rutland Police Department was established on June 13, 1934 after a vote at a special town meeting. Shortly thereafter, Jack Collins became Rutland's first Chief of Police, retiring in 1971 and has been the longest serving chief to date. He was succeeded by Chiefs Alinovi, Gordon, and Leger. Chief Ralph Anderson was appointed in 1983 and became Rutland's first full-time police chief in 1994. Chief Anderson was succeeded by Chiefs Baril, Haapakoski and Monaco.
