Chief Monaco started his career as a summer officer on Martha's Vineyard in 2001 and came to Rutland PD in 2007, attaining the rank of sergeant in 2010 and becoming chief in 2017. He holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from UMass Lowell and a Bachelor's from Anna Maria College.
Sgt Friberg has been with Rutland PD since 1997, attaining the rank of sergeant in 2005. Sgt. Friberg handles evidence management, court, and breath testing. Sergeant Friberg is the longest serving member of the department.
Sgt. Chauvin joined RPD back in 2005 and served as our detective for several years before becoming sergeant in 2015. He plays bagpipes in the Police Pipes & Drums of Worcester and is a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
Sgt Herzig joined the department back in 2011. She served as detective before being promoted to sergeant in 2018. She is in charge of the R.A.D. program. dherzig@rutlandpd.us
After working several years as a campus police officer, Ofc. Citrynell joined Rutland PD in 2015. Officer Citrynell is one of the department's field training officers. jcitrynell@rutlandpd.us
Officer Carpenter has been with Rutland PD since 2015. Officer Carpenter is one of our firearms instructors, is on the motor unit and is assigned as a Field Training Officer bcarpenter@rutlandpd.us
After serving as a campus police officer, Officer DeSousa joined Rutland PD in 2017. She is a R.A.D. instructor and is also a Simunitions instructor, and one of our firearms instructors. cdesousa@rutlandpd.us
After serving Rutland PD as a part-time officer for 15 years while working full-time as a campus officer, Officer Foster joined us full-time in 2022. jfoster@rutlandpd.us
Officer Collinge has been with us since 2018. He previously served as a campus police sergeant and police officer in NH and is an EVOC instructor. He was assigned as our detective in 2023. dcollinge@rutlandpd.us
Officer Perotto was a part-time Rutland Police officer from 2014 to 2017, and rejoined the department full-time in 2022. sperotto@rutlandpd.us
Officer Lawlor joined RPD in 2022 and comes to us with seven years experience as a campus police officer. Officer Lawlor is also a USMC veteran with three overseas deployments. jlawlor@rutlandpd.us
Officer Deschamps joined us in 2023, coming in with 8 years experience as a campus police officer and experience as a part-time municipal officer. He is an MPTC instructor and holdsa degree from Fitchburg State University. jdeschamps@rutlandpd.us
Officer Brian Fleury joined us in 2023, coming in with almost five years of experience in a nearby community. Brian is handling our overdose response program. bflreury@rutlandpd.us
