Patrol

Patrol is the backbone of any police department, responding to all calls for service (accidents, alarms, disturbances, etc.). In addition to responding to calls for service, patrol officers proactively seek to identify criminal activity, hazards and suspicious conditions. Rutland's Police Officers are also responsible for proactively engaging with members of the community. They can often be found visiting businesses, stopping in at youth sporting events and visiting our schools.

Rutland's patrol officers are also responsible for traffic enforcement. Officers respond to traffic complaints and proactively enforce traffic laws such as speeding and operating under the influence.

Patrol operations are divided into North and South sectors, divided by Main Street (MA Rt 122A).
